It’s Time for Project 7 of the Gift-Along!
Well, everyone, we’ve made it to November and Project 7 of our Gift-Along. If you’ve been with us from the beginning, you have 6 fantastic gifts at this point – wooohooo! If you are just jumping in, Project 7 works up quickly and makes a stunning gift in no time!
Crocheters – you have a treat in store, if I do say so myself. Ha ha ha – this is my design, and it is suuuuuuper quick and easy. And, best of all, it makes a great gift for just about anyone on your list!
The texture is lovely on both the “outside” and the “inside,” so there are options for how to wear it. I end up making a bunch of these for last-minute gifts or quick gifts for teachers, gift exchanges, etc.

Project 7: Knit: Gwen Stacy by Hailey Knits
There is just about nothing I love more than a lovely knitting pattern with fandom inspiration! Gwen Stacy by Hailey Knits is the perfect use of fandom and fiber arts!
Also, this hat is just really lovely. It may take a tad longer to knit up the a super-basic beanie, but the result is worth it!

Hey there Crafty Pals! Hard to believe it, but we are already on Project 6 of our Gift-Along. If you have been working along with us, you already have five fabulous gifts stashed away. If you are just joining us, now’s a great Project to jump in on – we are spending the next three weeks knitting or crocheting a lovely shawl. These are real show-stoppers, so someone is going to be a lucky recipient when you gift one of these.
For Project 6 the crocheters have a stunningly gorgeous Firefly-inspired shawl, designed by Cirsium Crochet. The best part? It’s a FREE Ravelry download.
How gorgeous is this? Grab your favorite DK weight yarn and get stitching! I cannot wait to see your makes for this one!

Welcome to Project 2 of the Gift Along!
Hey there, Gift-alongers! I’m so happy you are crocheting or knitting along with us for the 2019 Fandom GAL. At this point, you may have already made Project 1, which was a quick Wizard School Spirit Beanie.
For Project 2, we are making some truly stunning handwear. (Yep, I’m going to pretend “handwear” is a thing.) The two patterns are equally beautiful in their own ways, and I’m super thrilled to make and gift these this year! We will spend two weeks making these, as mittens or fingerless gloves can take a little time, especially if you are newer to making handwear.
The crochet pattern is Celtic Weave Fingerless Gloves by Laura Diaz. This one is a free pattern over on her blog. Get the pattern here.
The knitting pattern is Bella’s Mittens by Marielle Henault. This one is also free, and you can snag it on Ravelry. Get the pattern here.

August 5-12: Wizard School Spirit Beanies (Knit & Crochet)

Welcome to the 2019 Fandom Knitting + Crochet Gift-Along!
I’m so happy you are here to knit and crochet along with me and a group of fantastic yarny friends! This is going to be a long journey, and it all starts right here with a delightful little stash-buster, the Wizard School Spirit Beanie.
What’s great about this pattern is that it is available as a knit or crochet pattern (the crochet version is a little slouchier than the knit, however), and you can customize the colors to suit your Hogwarts house, the gift recipient’s Hogwarts house, or even sports team colors. There are no rules here – so go crazy!
There are also instructions written up for 5 different sizes, so no matter the gift recipient’s age, there is a beanie for that person.
These patterns are both my designs, and they are free on the Fandom Knitting + Crochet blog. If you want to support me and the blog by purchasing the PDF download, you can do so for a low cost at the links to my Etsy shop. Totally not necessary – but if you do get the download, you’ll have a nice printer-friendly PDF that is easy to take with you and follow along.

Some of the patterns are my designs, some are from other designers. Most are free, and if not, we have a special discount code for the paid patterns! So, you might want to hang tight on purchasing anything until we get closer and I’ll send out those coupon codes via email before that project is up. 🙂
The knitting projects and schedule are first – keep scrolling for the crochet projects and schedule.
Specific weekly details will be given out project by project. Be sure to sign up for the FKC mailing list to get all the weekly KCal updates.
Sharing & Support
Throughout the process, no matter the stage, I highly encourage you to share and get support in the Fandom Knitting & Crochet Facebook Group. We’re in this together, after all, so if you need help, have tips, or simply want to share pics of your progress, be sure to do so! I’d love to see it (and so will the rest of the group).
